    The 5g nickel is .750 copper/.250 nickel.

Both copper and nickel are priced in pounds.

9 rolls of nickels (360 coins) weigh approximately 4 pounds - roughly a pound of nickel and three pounds of copper.

That's why Canada has gone to plated steel. We'll never let the penny go, no matter how worthless it is.

It is worth noting that with recent legislation it is illegal to melt our coinage for its metals...Lead
