Jefferson Nickel Error Wanting to ask about a 1981D RPM. Is this a common find or something rare? Is this even an RPM? My Photos are never very good, Sorry.
It looks like a repunched mintmark (RPM). One RPM is listed for 1981-D nickels and it, too, is positioned north of the normal mintmark. However, this looks like a photo of a Lincoln cent. No RPM is listed for 1981-D cents in the CONECA variety master listings (www.conecaonline.org). Yours may be a new discovery if this is, in fact, a cent.
