    Hey Guys,

Here are two views of the same coin. I was wondering if it has full steps or not. I was thinking it had 5 full steps, but i'm not sure.

    Thanks!

I think the hit in the center is going to keep it from 5FS, but then again, I'm not a big Jefferson collector.

Maybe GBroke will come in and give his opinion... he knows a thing or two about Jefferson Nickels :)

That hit on the 3rd step says no.

Not FS. 3rd step hit and 1st step bridging.

Looks like we almost all agree not full steps. But really, really close.

This coin has no chance at FS from NGC, but I have seen coins like this get the FS designation from PCGS. Out of curiosity, what date/mm is it and can you show a photo of both the obverse and reverse of the coin so we can get an idea of the overall grade?

IMHO, no on the full steps designation.

However, I have seen slabbed Jeffersons with larger hits on the steps, and some bridging as well, that have received the FS designation.

What role do the side steps play in the FS designation?

    they don't play any role.

The real determining factor in FS is the steps below the pillars. If they are uninterrupted below all four pillars, they get the FS and the Ops coin exhibits an interruption below Pillar 2
