    Yeah, I'm guessing the guy got a set of tools for Christmas and is now trying to use them to make some money so he can buy what he REALLY wants! :)

    How in the world is he able to make this coin look like that? Is it remotely possible that this could be a mint error?

    I seriously doubt this is a mint error. I suspect someone pinched the coin with something - a vise, pliers, etc.

    The seller's auction has conflicting info. In one place he says "Bidding starts at .99" but the actual starting price is $2.99.

    Two words to describe this "error":

    Pho Knee.

    At least so far no one has been sucked in.
