    Hello all,

Does anyone know for certain what the 2006 design for the nickel will be.

I have heard that they are going back to the old design and then I have heard they were doing something new...

Does anyone have thoughts or more info?

    Thanks

It has been told to me by several others including dealers that they are going back to the old jefferson style next year which should drive the price of the 2005 nickels thru the roof!

I know that it must have Jefferson and Monticello. I think there is some kind of law on it. But hopefully, they will redisign it. I really like the new Jefferson obverse and would like to see it stay.

There will be new designs next year, obverse and reverse, unless someone some where has the pull to stop the process. The officials are wise enough to know anything NEW has the ability to rake in the money and believe me they are not going to pass any opportunity up to create something new. Currenty law, thanks to the idiots from Virginia, states that Jefferson and Monticello must be on the coin but it did not stipulate the design. Can promise the fine politicians in Virginia that I, nor my family, will ever set foot in their state so we won't be spending a dime there either! Thats what you stupid laws have done for you and believe me, I am not the only one! Quite honestly I am surprised, now that many new truths have come out, that Virginia's politicians continue to be so proud or is it just their current love of tourism money and not your pride?

My understanding is that the new obverse will be the same and that the reverse will be Monticello, but from a different perspective. There have been some drawings from a somewhat elevated view and also some from a 3/4 view of the front. But the obverse will be the 2005 version.
