Hi, I'm new, hoping someone here can help me.

My brother gave me two coins the other day and i cant find any info on them. Sure, i'd like to know what they are worth, but I'm really interested in all the other info too about these coins, can any one can tell me about these coins, or where i can find info at?

In the first place they are tokens, not coins.

They were privately issued as part of a commercially created series honoring US presidents (before Congress and the Mint teamed up to do the same with dollar coins.) If that mark above Jefferson's left shoulder and Lincoln's right shoulder is an "F", they may be Franklin Mint products. Also, both Shell Oil and the Readers Digest are among the companies which have issued historic series of tokens from time to time.

The style seems to match this Chester Arthur medal discussed and illustrated at this website, and may be from the same series, albeit in a different metal.[IMG]

I believe hontonai is right about them being from the Franklin Mint. They did a spouse series similar as well.

    I concur.
I have the whole set from this series (ends with Nixon).
There is no information regarding the manufacturer on the cardboard frame/holder though.
Hontonai's deduction would seem more than likely to me.
He's right about a lot of stuff.

I picked up a couple of coins/tokens like yours for 50 cents each. AND I know a dealer who just sold a complete set on ebay for under $20. Hope this helps.

It's easy, when you click on any section like What's It Worth, or any other, right at the top left is a button that says New Thread. Just click on that and there ya go.
