I love to search nickel rolls. Today, at the bank I work at, a lady brought in some rolls of quarters and nickels to deposit. I set them aside for about half the day, and then opened them up. Found 2 silver quarters in the first roll. I usually only find maybe 1 a year. Ended up with 5 silver quarters. Then I moved to the nickels. She deposited $40 total in nickels. My first roll, I pulled a lot of pre-1960's and was getting excited. Each roll I opened, at least half were pre-60 nickels. When I finished, I got $19.85 in pre-60 Jeff's out of $40. I got 3 Buffs and 3 silver. Was heavy in 1940, 1941, 1946, 1947, 1948 & 1954. Luckily, there weren't many 57-59's like I usually find. I already searched for varieties, and got nothing. Me and my 10 year old son sat at the kitchen table together sorting and counting. Fun day!

Can't wait until my daughter is old enough to sort coins for me! That's how my Grandpa used to keep me busy. Nice pickup!

It's kind of ironic that the OP found these nickels all together because it took me about $1,000 worth of roll searching to obtain similar year totals up to 1955. People don't appreciate how hard the 1951 dated coins are to find. I still haven't found a 1951 S yet in over $1,500 worth of searching nickel rolls. And I've only found one 1953 S and it's been mutilated.
