Firstly, many thanks for the posts about my 55 triple die reverse. Attached is a scan of 3 other coins from the same collection. Two questions. Whats a Breen? What are they worth??? I think I mentioned in another post, U.S. coins are not my strong point.
Breen refers to Walter Breen author of "Walter Breen's Complete Encyclopedia of US and Colonial Coins" 1988. Page 262 notes "2676 1941 S Large S. Large sharp serifs to S, as on cents of later years. Only one rev. die seen to date. Comprises a tiny minority of the mintage." The formating in the book, shows the number Breen assigned to the variety/error in this case it is 2676, and his comments about the variety/error. As to value, I won't be much help. Several very knowledgable Jefferson collectors here that can chime in.
Send a PM to Borgovan, Lehigh or Speedy, any of those gentleman should be able to help you with this Jefferson.
