Japanese occupation coinage: East Hebei 2 Jiao Year 26 (1937)

    Got this as part of a mixed lot of loose coins. I don't think I have the type.
    East Hebei was a Japan-dominated puppet "buffer state" between Manchukuo and the rest of China. As Japan pushed further south, it no longer needed the pretense of a buffer state and merged it with the Provisional Government of China. These aren't terribly expensive (this was about $12), but they don't turn up as often as many of the other wartime occupation types.

    Prices have definitely gone up for this. I reckon this is easily 50+ dollars for this condition

    A full set can cost a pretty penny
