Here's a Japan 10 yen I Recently obtained. Could any tell me the exact year? Also, grade input would help. They are worth next to nothing circulated but are of decent value Uncirculated.
    Thanks

It's the earlier coins that are worth significantly more in aUNC to UNC condition - reeded 10 yen coins.

These particular coins, which still circulate as 10 Yen coins in Japan today, seem to have significant value only in fairly pristine condition. Brand new they have a brilliant, shiny luster which gets lost quickly through handling. If the coin has a dull luster then it's likely not worth too much more than face value. The most valuable dates of this series seem to be 1951 (昭和二十六年), 1957 (昭和三十二年) and 1959 (昭和三十四円), the first two of which have a reeded, rather than a smooth, edge. But even circulated these dates don't fetch too much more than face value.

Thanks! It's a beautiful coin. I love the detailed architecture on the obverse.
