Sorry to be the one to bring bad news to the Coin World.
In Numismatic News today it says that Keith Love has left ICG and James Taylor is taking his place---so he killed ANACS more than likely to make ICG look better.

I hardly see any coins slabbed by either of those two... Are they really major players???

I have no factual data on this, this is just what I have seen on Ebay, coin shops and coin sites...

ICG is 'supposed' to be a major player, but they have been going down hill.
ANACS is going, going, about to be gone.

ANAC is a sad story actually. They hired James and Miles to get things on track and all they did was make things worse. Both are now gone and Hopefully one of the old dogs in the industry can pull themselves together and get back on track. ICG... I think the slabs they use a bugly.. <-- you figure that word out. I have seen alot of them here in Michigan at coin shows, seems they stay in the display cases for the weekends as well. I personally do not own an ICG graded coin. If I did purchase one it would get pulled from the slab.

Most people think of these TPG's as #3 and #4----

Jim hit the nail on the head---ANACS thought they were getting a good deal---but soon they started to overgrade---some of the older guys left---they got new holders, that are much worse, and easy to crack open---things went down hill and when such things do the guys left.
ANACS should have thought something was funny when James moved to TX on work days and went back to CO on weekends to live with his Family.
Maybe I'm wrong---hopefuly Taylor wasn't trying to crash ANACS---but when you look on the outside in, that is what you see.

i actually like the holders from anacs but i seem to be in the minority. it offers greater visiblity,,,pcgs slabs are my 2nd favorite. i hope that anacs can get rid of the turnover rate., get some stability in management as well as in grading functions. they must know their public perception as #3. perhaps the ana should repurchase them . it could go back to its original roots and purpose. just my own opinion.

    I have a 1994 P Dime that is slabbed as a 1994 -P 25C in MS-65....

It was part of a lot I bought for something else... I keep it, just becasie I thought it was funny that they messed that up...

I'll see if I can find a pic of it later and post it....

I have a number of coins in old ANACS holders. I thought the grading was accurate and I liked the smaller holders. They forgot the number one rule -- protect the reputation of the brand. It'll be tough to turn things around now because the new slabs will be associated with inferior grading. I think I own one ICG slab -- a silver eagle that I believe is overgraded.

I think getting rid of the new slab and bringing back the older, smaller holder is the first change they need to do---then try to get Randy to come back.
