we found a Jamacican 50 cent piece dated 1987 in a roll of bank wrapped halves (kennedys)... coat of arms on front and image off marcus darvry on reverse any info on image who what supposed to be a national hero any info would be appreciated

There are several Jamaican coins that feature Marcus Garvey http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcus_Garvey - that 50 c type was issued between 1975 and 1990, partly made by the Royal Mint (UK), partly by the Franklin Mint. The 1987 pieces were produced by the Royal Mint. Not worth a lot but still a nice find, also because of its shape. Christian
