I've found a pattern that applies to Multiple Franklin Halfs. Is it a DISCOVERY? How to protect it?

I am Brand Spanking New to Coins but I have become obsessed with them in a relatively short time. Haha
I am almost afraid to ask my questions because I do not wish to make a fool of myself.
I purchased my first big coin about a week back, and I've been doing my own investigation into what kind of Error Coin it is.
    It is already graded by Anacs as a 1961 D/D Rpm-1 MS-64
It just felt like there was/is more to this coin.
While looking at multiple error coins, I've noticed something MANY have in common.
There is a very specific pattern / outline/ impression, I repeatedly keep seeing.
Different coins, years, and Mint marks.
I'm not even sure what I keep seeing, would even be created onto the coins.
I've tried searching the net for what it is that I THINK I keep seeing and I still haven't found anything.
Of course, I would like to be recognized if it is a real and true discovery.
    So...
    1) how does one protect their findings?
    2) It would not be a discovery piece... because it is visible on many varieties.
    3) if you know what I am referencing and its common knowledge... Please let me know. Haha my fear, Is That it is and people just ignore it.
    4) if you do know what I'm referring to, I'd LOVE to hear more about it and how they are created!

    Thank you for your time!

I don't have the slightest idea what it may be, and without photos it would be impossible for anyone to confirm or refute your theory. Sooner or later, you're going to have to tell someone.

    Welcome to the neighborhood!

Being new as you say, I'd suspect that whatever it is has got a term associated with it already.

Thank you for the Welcome :)
Maybe I will ask a "general" question before I post pictures.
Would it be possible for a coin to have 1,2,3 or Maybe even a DOZEN or more imprints of an image from part of the coin found all over the coin in no particular pattern as well as no particular direction?
Its not like a double strike that is slightly rotated.

If you have a sandwiched or vise coin that could be possible. PMD Post Mint Damage
That would be a coin that was pressed in between 2 other coins and you have the images incused on each side of the middle coin.

Sounds just like a counterfeit error coin recently posted, made from a soft die.

That person was asking for images to compare. He would appreciate that, I'm sure.

I may be confused, but did you say this coin is ANACS slabbed?

If you found something that you suspect is a "discovery piece", the mere fact that you posted photos and a description here would validate your claim as the person discovering this.

Could that cause multiple images or just one on each side?
That sounds like it would only apply to one particular coin that got sandwiched, yes?
I have found multiple coins from different years with (some) identical markings which have been rated by the top coin grading Companies.
Surely they would know if they were counterfeit, right?

Yes they would know if a coin is counterfeit and they would not even certify such a coin. But now you are talking about something completely different.
    Can you post a picture?

Yes my coin is slabbed by ANACS.
Would it really be legit, if I posted my findings and photos?

    Lol
I will try to post pictures when I get home this evening.
It's not the mint marks. :)
    It's very exciting...
    If, I'm right
    And
If, I'm not just seeing things...
    And
    IF, it is NEW ...
    IT would be VERY cool
    People would love it!

How strong of a glass are you using to view the coin?

Are they the same type coin? Playing 20 questions becomes tedious.

Could be the concentric circles anomaly recently posted, die trail lines, cracks, cuds, counter clashes, etc. The list goes on. If the fee was paid for error attribution, surely this would have been noted.

There are people who make a living from studying the minting process and attributing error coins. Guys who literally wrote the books on such things. Forgive me if I have a hard time believing that whatever it is hasn't been noted in some way by the people who devoted their lives to the study of numismatics.

It would be a good idea to wait until she is home and able to send a photograph. I suspect she is seeing D/D on several different coins and such would only be on one side of the coin. Welcome Chole to the forum.

Not all errors are attributed by TPG companies.
:stop: I want to share this from the NGC website - quote "NGC also grades and encapsulates Mint Error coins. Most Proof Mint Error coins struck prior to 1985 are eligible and coins struck after that date are eligible on a case-by-case basis. NGC does not recognize as Mint Error coins those with minor die chips, breaks, rotations, etc., that fall within our interpretation of mint tolerance. The determination of what constitutes a Mint Error is at the discretion of NGC" closed quote :yack:
For example BIE Die breaks are not recognized
