It's official "I now hate the US Mint"

Their server is once again getting hammered, and they don't answer the phones. Who in the world is giving them good customer service on that stupid mint survey? Jim

the mint site sucks, i cant even add anything to my cart and now the shipping dates went from 2/1 to 4/30. argh

 

I can't even enter the commemorative page, it keeps me showing the proof set or the franklin proof but I want the UNC. Annoying!!

 

I was finally able to get in my order...after 45 minutes of waiting and refreshing!

 

Mint order

ARG.....Nothing was happening. I clicked and clicked, refreshed and refreshed. finally my basket showed up with alot more than i wanted, I tried to ammend and it was frezzing again, but checked out worked. With a whole lot more than I wanted, totalling 1047 dollars. hopefully it went through, and I will have to get rid of the extras on Ebay. NO FUN, buying coins is usually alot more fun.

 

phone lines at the mint

I am wondering if they have any more that 25-30 phones lines going into the mint. They have not been able to take any phone calls for 1 1/2 hours now.

The website still sucks as of this hour.

How are these TV coin shows getting their coins? They have to be buying them well before they go on sale to the individual collectors. I'll be willing to bet they have some of the Franklin Comms graded and for sale next week. I once heard they pay less than $10.00 per coin to get it graded. They have probably had the Franklins graded and in storage for a few weeks now. I am also willing to bet they have some type of agreement with the mint to get their coins early, just not put them on sale until after the mint release date.

it took about an hour on the website to order for me, the first 45 min was impossible to get through. then at about 1pm its finally let me add the items to the cart and complete the order.

Of course now it says 4/30/06 for shipping

 

Same here, Over an hour to get thru and backordered , shipping 4-30-2006. Your dealing with a govt agency. no lay offs, you have to kill someone to get fired and no bottom line for accountability to the stock holders. Do you think they really care about you?

 

I just completed the order. One of earch in UNC. I've been trying from 12 noon.

took me an hour, but I ordered one of each of the 5 sets.

It's too bad you can't put this stuff in your cart ahead of time, then just run through and purchase it.

BTW the write ups state that none of these coins will be available prior to March, so a wait date in April shouldn't be too far off.. I don't care, as long as my order is in. They are going to spend eternity in a shoe box anyway

It took 45 min just to get the comm. screen.
At the same time calling, trying to get through.
Finally got thru and placed my order.

Press 2, seems to work faster.

It you join the subscription program, the mint will automatically send you the latest product when it comes available.

 

Tonight the website isn't even working at all. All it says is that they are doing routine sheduled maintenance. Good time to schedule that!!!! Or maybe they don't want us using the website and forcing us to use the slow phone lines.

 

You can't even call, a message says calls can't be taken at this time. Did any one order the Chronic set?

 

I do not believe you can set up a subscription for Commemorative Coins.

 

I just ordered a few mninutes ago on the website and it took about a minute.

 

join the club guys....I haven't bought from the mint in 2 years...if I need something I pay alittle more and get it at a dealers or wait for a while and get it in a trade....I'm just now working out a trade for a West Point Comm....I've been wanting one of them since they came out

Big Ben orders

Some big time coin dealers have special contacts:loud: in the mint with direct lines. These are the people who order huge quantities. In this case 100 of each silver dollar and who knows how many chronical sets slip through on different accounts.
