I just found this piece and it’s labeled Italian Silver, Grosso, circa 1700. I’ve had it for about 7-10 years but I know nothing else about it.
There are many very similar issues which differ basically only by the legend. But I believe yours is: Italy, Venice. Pietro Gradenigo (Doge), 1289-1311, silver grosso. Obv: .PE.GRADONICO. DVX .S.M.VENETI; Doge standing left, St. Mark standing right, Cross between. Rev: IC XC Christ seated on throne, Attribution: Biaggi 2794 Presuming the above attribution is correct, see this link for 70+ examples: https://www.acsearch.info/search.ht...de=1&fr=1&it=1&es=1&ot=1¤cy=usd&order=1
