Isn't this a darn shame...

    I bought this piece this morning. It's really nice... if big gaudy money clips are your thing. The thing is that unlike most of the stuff we see in jewelry this coin appears to still be in a collectible state... and not polished to death. No way to get it out of there without thrashing it either.... DANG! I thought I'd share.

    Amazing piece, though! I think that it is really interesting and much nicer than the ones that are, as you stated, polished. Great purchase, but it's too bad that it can't be removed without sending it to a TPG and getting a "Jewelry Damage" designation.

    Very interesting. From what I can see of the reverse, and that's not much, I'd swear that it was a cast fake. But dang - the obverse sure doesn't show it ! Except on the rims - color me confused !

    That is one of the strangest things I have ever seen !

    I don't think it's a cast fake. I see the marks that you are seeing in the picture... but I sure can't see them in hand with my glass... just lots of flow lines in those areas.
