It is an UNC. 2003A $1 note. Serial D 08842666 C. Would the serial number bring much of a premium? Also I have a 2003 $2 note Serial I 80319100. Any ideas?

What is impressing you abut those numbers?
    Not very low, nor unusual.

On the $1 dollar I didn't know if the triple sixes would mean anything. Also didn't know if the 0 at the beginning would make it considered a low serial number. I'm basically new at this and don't know if some of the stuff I have might be worth something now, or if they will be worth something down the line. I don't have anything as special as a Radar note or repeater note, but I just thought the triple sixes were kinda neat. Not looking for much of a premium if any right now. You never know, Something like that might be worth something down the line, and if not, I got it for a dollar. :)

By the way, how many zeros does it take for a note to be considered a low serial number? Just wondering.

The 666 wouldnt mean much to a collector unless they was satanic in some way. Thats about it. Theres nothing worth saving if you ask me and i grew up listening to Ozzy, slayer, Ironmaiden, megadeth, blacksabeth and Dio. That should answer your question right there. Im a long time collector and I wouldnt think twice about just spending it. :)

edit to add. This is ofcourse just IMO.If you like something enough, Its your call if you should keep it.

I think generally they say below 4000 is a low serial number.

I wasn't keeping it because they are Satanic numbers, (I attend the Church of Christ) I thought triple sixes at the end were just neat. I might spend it so I don't get bad luck. lol. The only reason I kept it was because I collect uncirulated $1 notes. I hear talk about $1 notes and their serial numbers might make a nice premium. If I could get (not saying I will on this particular note) $5 for a note I got out of circulation for a dollar, I'm making a tiny profit. It'll be neat if one of these days I find an uncirculated radar note. That'll be neat. Thanks for the help.

Thanks, tsk. Now I know what to keep an eye out for. Even if I didn't know, I'd probably keep a bill that begins with 4 0's. lol.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone, I just thought it was different. I just don't want to go spending anything that might be worth anything over face. Don't want to cause trouble in any way, shape, or form. Thanks for the help everyone.

Yeah, I'd presonally keep anything 4 0's. I don't go actively searching (ie get a hundred $1's from the bank), and I also don't usually find anything that interesting. I have a 00396000 that I've been keeping but that's about as good as I've got :). Good luck.

Don't think you offended anybody... there's only one way of learning... and that's asking.

I think the lowest # i carry is 00004747*... but i'm working on a really cool idea right now...
    1999 $1, $5, $10, and $20 all with binary 4 & 7!!!
    $1 77444477 (quad radar binary!!!)
$5 don't have yet... working on it tho
    $10 47774744
    $20 77774777 (almost solid)

    pretty crazy...
