Ive never seen one look so different...

The 1935 on the left, if you look at the Sun then to the right (at about 2 o'Clock) liberty's dress appears to have an "M" design at the bottom/left of her dress. I have no other liberty's like this. what do you think?

    Thanks

I see no reason based on the photo to believe it is a fake. It may have taken a hard hit in the area you identified that was later softened by wear. Does it weigh the correct amount? (I bet yes) Does a magnet stick to it? (I bet no) I think it looks fine. JMO

I believe genuine also. I think what you're seeing is a little PMD.

I'm in the damge group can not see the value in counterfieting this low of grade coin.

Edit to add I have a AU58 and it's only valued at about $35.00. If it was like my MS65 in the $350.00 value range I coiuld see it being done.

If you can make a counterfeit half for, lets say less than $2.00, and then sell it at spot price, you're still making a large profit. It doesn't have to be a key date or high grade.

That's true... and the Chinese are counterfeiting most dates. Of course, it costs them much less than $2 each to manufacture, somewhere closer to fifty cents (includes planchet cost, striking, artifical wear & patina). Their sell cost is around two bucks, and they're still making a tidy profit. However, in the OP's case, the coin is genuine.

I was thinking around $0.50, but I didnt want to give too low of a number because I might of looked like an idiot if I was wrong.

You'd be surprised at the kinds of coins that get counterfeited.
