Hi Everyone, I am wondering if the D being filled in is PMD or do you think it may have come from the mint like that? Thanks ahead of time for any opinions.
It came from the mint like that. The post in the die that makes the center of the D broke off of the die. It's a very common occurrence.
From your photo, I can't tell if the post broke off the die or if the mintmark was slightly smashed in circulation. Chris
