It looks like a strikethrough to me. Note that there seems to be an absence of the "crater effect". If it were a gouge on the surface of the coin, metal would be pushed up and out along the edge. This doesn't occur with a strikethrough because the surface of the die doesn't allow such upward movement of metal. Chris
