Is this penny a DDO

    Hi all I have a 1988 D penny where the ear lobe looks doubled. I could not find anything in Wexler or Variety Vista though. Maybe it is a MD.     It's blurry but looks like the ear took a hit post Mint. A doubled ear would be a more major variety and likely would have been found by now.

    I am not even close to being an expert, but it looks to me like blistering in the copper plating explains all the "doubled" places. Even if it were a legitimate doubled die obverse, with all that zinc corrosion it would not be worth saving for long because it will soon corrode away.
