well i spent new years eve with some family and they pull out there jar of weird coins there were all foreign except this one large 1984 cent.... how did this happen?
Betcha the large one is noticeably thinner than the other one. My guess is that it's been hammered between layers of leather. That would account for the size increase and the shape distortion. I've certainly never heard of being "on the ground" or being dirty as a cause of either phenomenon.
Never mind. You were not clear with your question. I thought you were questioning the coin's color. I didn't notice there were two different coins for size comparison in the photos.
probably some play money? I know they've made larger coins, and smaller coins... - not the US Mint, but other companies.
well i made a drop test it dose not sound like the other cent, and it dose look like it has a perm, but it is metal
Well, they have a way to shrink coins to a fraction of their original size. Maybe somebody found a way to enlarge them.
