Hey all, is this finning? When a coin shows Finning, are they sought after, keepers? If this is not the proper te dime.jpg IMG_0142.JPG dime 2.jpg rm please let me know. I think it is a striking error.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe a finned rim occurs when the retaining collar doesn't seat properly and metal is squeezed out (and up) along the rim between the collar and the die.

I think you are right, but that is why I am asking what this is for instance, a die tilt? The reverse area that is displayed is squeezed flat while the obverse I thought demonstrated the finning more. I thought all of this is somehow related to striking pressure. So I am trying to find out. Thank you for helping, you are my only post

Your coin looks more like the dies are misaligned.

I think will show the metal that squeezed in between the rim from the striking pressure; granted it's small. IMG_0142.JPG
