Found this 2016 Nickel with something on the last "O" in the word Monticello. Is this an example of a Cud and would it be worth keeping? 2016 P Nickel.jpg

    That's a die chip.
A cud starts on the edge of the coin. Like this:

Why do the majority of newbies first think and ask if it could be a Cud? o_O
    Interesting :bookworm:

Some click-bait YouTube or TikTok videos misuses the term.

However, the ones that come here to ask and learn the correct term are the ones we can save. And maybe convert into the next generation of error collectors.

I think also that, as newbies, they also confuse the title of the site, cuds on coins which also lists IDBs, cracks etc, and use cud instead of the recognized error or variety descriptions.

IDB is Internal Die Break, for those that don't know. That is an interesting one for sure.
