Hello everyone, sorry can't remember what they call coins that sometimes look messed up. LOL!! Anyway just was wondering if this 1993-D penny is considered a washer/dryer coin because you can clearly see the obverse and reverse but it's the color of the coin that was interesting to me.

    Thanks

Have you weighed it? The copper-plated Zincolns should weigh 2.5 gms. If it has been dipped in a chemical solution to remove the copper plating, it should weigh less.

It has been plated with zinc in chemistry lab experiment. You can still see reminents of the copper plate in areas.

Morning Chris, just weighed it and it weighs 2.5 gms. So this would be a copper plated Zincolns. Thanks again.
