    I call it a folded over finned rim. A fin rim occurs when there is a Misaligned Die Strike and makes some of the metal raise up.
    Not a CUD

    Thanks, need to read up on finned rim...didn't know about that error before. It also looks like some of it chipped away (close to the bottom of L), could that be from wear ?

    I agree on the folded fin. There are a whole bunch of late date large cents that have these things, and people call them cuds, even though they move around the rim, which cuds cannot do.
