This coin has a lot of luster but it has a weird field to the right of the head. There isn't any other change in the field besides that spot. And there are NO markings like it's been polished.
Looks similar to the effect I've seen when people rub pencil erasers on coins. Try it out on some browned copper pennies and you'll see what Im talking about
Lol @Hommer Umm I'll try the penny thing, but what spots do you mean? Also don't be sad I paid 15 for it and it's got a ton of luster still! Yea, it's a little dinged and it has those clean spots, but it has full sail lines on the reverse (in hand you can see them even though they look worn here). And it has that subtle blue toning on the rim. I don't have a 92 yet so I think it's a great addition. I'm just curious to learn about it! Thank you for the response by the way!
Thank you, I try to reserve myself only to what I feel is a great value. Otherwise id be in financial trouble! lol
I don’t think it was that. There’s a very thing line behind the head too where you’d have to sharpen an eraser to a fine point to be that thin.
Not whizzed, I don't think. Maybe dipped and improperly rinsed. But I don't find it to be that bad looking, really. And for 15 bucks, I don't see a lot of downside there.
Just a pencil eraser literrally just rub it on and you'll see what I mean. Maybe if I have a chance Ill do it and post a picture so the others see what I mean.
That same look from the spot in front of the face goes all the way around above and behind the head too in a very thin line
I can't lie I didn't take these :/ ha I should've said sellers photos. I'm trying to get a good one of this coin but I can't figure out how to do coins with luster because they reflect too much light into the camera :/
Send them to me, trusting, innocent, child.........I'll photog them [wrings hands in an evil way].......
