is this coin real

    i couldnt find this coin anywhere in pridmore or krause. appreciate the help

    Yes,it's real. It's a quarter anna from Bombay presidency. C#592 or KM#231.1

    thanks and this is so bad maybe i have become u know oblivious to certain numbers but for the life of me i cant find KM231.1 can you tell me the page numbe rplease. i have to cure myself. Thanks.

    in fac i cant find any coin between 1800 and 1835 of the east india company int he catalogue :(

    Bombay Presidency issues are listed at pages 697-701 in the 2001 3rd Ed. of the 19th Century volume. The coin pictured in post #1 is halfway down the first column on page 698.

    It's 6.47g of copper, dated AH1246 on the reverse. No mintage is listed.

    Catalog values (it's not the latest edition) $1.25 F, $3 VF, $35 XF, $75 Unc, $250 Proof.

    No.

    There is no official grading available most of the Indian coins. But for any East India Company copper coins, the wear in coat of arms plays a major role in deciding the grade. For a coin to be an XF, the image in first quadrant of shield should be fully visible.

    So, based on the image, I would call this a VF.
