What do you folks think about the coin for sale in this Ebay auction? Does it look like an authentic 1909 s vdb? It didn't sell for very much so I'm wondering what it is about the images that were causing the bidders concern. http://cgi.ebay.com/1909-S-VDB-Linc...mQQptZCoins_US_Individual?hash=item3a5689cc3b
As best I can tell, it is real, but not VF. It is corroded and/or damaged and sold by someone with 0 feedback.
Looks authentic to me too. It's pretty surprising that it went for so little considering what some of the crappy SVDB auctions bring.
There's no way I'd buy anything worth more than maybe $2 from someone who just joined eBay last week.
Yeah, Kinda scary with no feedback. But as least the sale is guaranteed through eBay as long as you follow their rules/time table.
Hey Carly, like your pic. Lots of criticism of the new cent, but I kinda like it. We have the shield nickel and now the shield cent.
Yeah, the 3 bidders were real gamblers participating in that auction. The 0 feedback rating on such a high dollar item just sends up red flags everywhere for me. And I think most agreed and that is why it went for less than comparable coins. Although if you get scammed, you're covered through paypal, all the time and hassle isn't worth it. And doesn't paypal charge a fee for processing a claim? So you end up losing a little in the end. There are other 1909 S vdbs out there; I would've let this pass. -LTB
I've been off ebay for a few days and didn't see this one. I've been looking for one for awhile and this price is very low. It looks genuine to me. I may have taken a chance on this one but would definately be scared of the 0 feedback. On the other hand, it could be someone new to ebay.
