I have a 2nd chance offer on this. Doug says it has been cleaned, but I can't see it. If you think it has been cleaned, please tell me why you think so. I see no pits or hairlines. I'm not trying to argue, I'm just wanting education.
The splotchy/uneven coloring in the fields is indicative of some sort of cleaning. Usually with a nice circ-cam example, those fields will be an even gray.
The only thing I can say it doesn't have the right color for a circulated coin . Now I really can't tell if it was cleaned and retoned funny or if it just toned funny to begin with , but to me the color just doesn't look right .
Cleaning does not always mean pits or hairlines. Look at some of those graded blast white bust halves. In this case I would say an old cleaning that is retoning, but I like it in the pictures - in hand I might change my mind if it is too dark.
At that value of coin I would keep looking until I found a certified coin if shopping online. May not be the answer your looking for but only way I would buy it is if I had it in my hand with my money still in my pocket. Edit to and only if it looked better than the images look would I commit to buy.
