I found this piece in an ancient area in Jordan. It looks very much like a medal. Can someone please tell if it is ancient and it's value. Best regards.
No, it is not ancient. I don't think gymnastics, jumping obstacles on a track and other modern Olympic events, and pole vaulting are ancient sports, and this looks struck, not hammered. Also, I don't think the ancients did medals to hang around the neck like we do.
