I bought it at the local flea market and the seller said it was hungarian. It is 10mm in diameter and has arabic writing and numbers on both sides. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks
I am not sure it is ancient and therefore havent posted there. Once posted a subject about XIV coin there and got some critique
i'm not sure what that is at all, but i'm also pretty sure it isn't hungarian...unless it is some rare type i don't know about (totally possible!). here may be what the seller was thinking of... these farily common 12th century coins are about 24 mm and has "pseudo-arabic" legends. i know a couple of smart guys you may know what this is.... @THCoins and @Quant.Geek will you guys take a look at this one?
Thanks THCoins. The llink says exactly that: Ottoman Empire Mehmed II the conqueror 2nd reign AR Akce First issue Mint: Adrana (Edirne) Date of Issue: 855 AH / 1444 AD
The source(link) says weight is 1gram and diameter is 10.6mm. Mine is 0.89grams and 10.5mm at widest. Does it look authentic? Thanks!
