I found a coin while coin roll hunting today. It is a 2001 P Vermont state quarter. On the back of it the Y in “ freedom and unity “ is missing. If you look at it on the right angle you can see a little mark that resembles a Y. Is this an error or did the Y just wear off? The coin is in good condition so I can’t see any signs of it rubbing off.
Some collectors like those because they look cool. There is a rarer KS quarter variety that is missing the ‘t’ in ‘trust’ that is highly collectible. Collectors pay a lot more than a quarter for that one. Keep an eye out for it!
But this isn’t that quarter. So while people may pay more for that coin, it’s doesn’t mean anything for this one. And that coin only really has value because of the word being changed.
Alex, I call those collectors you are referring to "bidiots"! Coins struck from grease-filled dies are just too common. Chris
I don't need to.. I have been doing this for 31 years. I know very well what it is.. Garbage And it's actually IN GOD WE RUST.. Capital Letters. Peace
