I'm new to error hunting, is the space between the word Liberty and the rim an error?

That looks like a slightly mis-aligned die. No added value.

    Welcome to CT!!

A stated your coin looks to be a Misaligned Die error or MAD for short. Note how thick the rim is on lower right hand side...directly opposite the word liberty. This is a telltale sign of a MAD. Thin rim on one side with a thick rim on the apposing side.

This is something you will see a lot. It carries no value unless some of the legends are actually missing.

If the coin is off in the same direction on both the obverse AND reverse then it would be called an Off Center Strike. These can carry a premium. The more off center they are the more desirable they are.

Good luck on the hunting. Keep it up!!
