This is my friend's 5 dollars. It seems like the top border was really narrow, even though the border on the reverse were fine. Is this a printing error?

Excuse my nomenclature as am not a currency collector. 5 dollar.jpg Front.jpg

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

No. Now if it had the print of another note at the edge, it would be an error.
Nice catch, though. Where was it found?

My friend has had it for long time and I was buying his coins and saw the note. He wants to keep it because he likes the design so he probably just pulled it out of circulation.

    Thanks

He should like it! Unlike Federal Reserve Notes, the fiat red seals were interest free.
Research Executive order 11110 which authorized the issuance of $4,292,893,815 in United States Notes. Shortly after that Kennedy went bye bye...

Funny you brought up the subject of Kennedy, then I quickly glanced to your avatar. It's all ironic ;)

Yes, please research EO 11110. Start by actually reading it (it's only two paragraphs). You'll notice that it has nothing to do with United States Notes. For some reason, certain Fed conspiracy theorists keep on talking about EO 11110 and USNs, but that just shows they've never even read the EO that they're telling us all to research....

More discussion is here, if anyone's interested.

How much Nickel is in a nickel now-a-days? Gosh it makes me nauseous to see what has become of coinage! Used to be worth something, but now it's fiat federal reserve paper weights! Hmmm when did we switch from silver to worthless clad? 1964 right? hmmmm
Even currency used to represented a silver or gold coin! The FED has robbed us blind for one hundred years, and they don't even hide that fact anymore...
It cost $30 Fiat bucks to buy a $1 silver coin! How can anyone defend the Private Unconstitutional Federal Reserve with that track record?
