I have a dime that I got as change. It has a very odd flat area on the edge, and some other gouges. It doesn't look like damage to me, wondering if it is an error or what it is called? Trying to find out more about it. It's a 1995 P 20191029_095454.jpg 20191029_095807.jpg

Ok.. That is called PMD - Post Mint Damage. It was damaged/altered after it left the mint. Only the bored person who created it would know why it looks that way. Probably pliers.

Not a Mint Error of any kind.
