Don't know what you mean by a 'blue die' ?? Can you explain what you see as the error on the nickel? The obverse of the nickel looks stained or toned.
Ok maybe a cud or retained cud not sure it has a stronger line towards left of coin Towards '''we' it is blue green in coller just got this from a roll at bank
Environmental Damage.. Stained. They don't use dyes when striking coins.. They do strike with dies to make coins.
Didn't we just look at this nickel the other day? I remember the area on the right side of the reverse that looks like it's peeling?
We are trying to help.. Not being mean. Do you want our help or not.. I am not a mean person. I'm a really good guy!
Surely you jest. Seriously, if a very simple question is “so mean”, may I ask what you consider your own questions to be?
What you see is NOT struck in the nickel. It's simply stained and discolored - not a Mint Error coin of any kind or type. It's your coin, so you are welcome to believe anything about it you'd like, but you must then expect the truth about it from the experienced people telling you what it is. ....and then it's your choice again to believe us, or believe your experience and knowledge.
Got it so the word liberty ? I also see like a number 5 below the "w" and yes looks like oil or something but if you were to see it in person it really does look blue just by the letter w tho .. all the rest of coin is not
Blue is a color than can be on stained or discolored pieces of METAL. Blue is not a color that comes from any US Mint during the Minting Process. Try again.
Ok I'm gonna do somemore search and let my eyes rest , might do me some good beforbe my heart breaks :+)
If you are planning on finding something amazing while searching pocket change, get used to a lot of heart breaks. True errors and varieties are very difficult to come by.
