I'll be the first out on the limb :arghh:

The way the photo is taken, I see a raised line (from another D) at the inside bottom of the mintmark. I also se what looks like strike doubling at the outside top of the "D". Soooooo, I'll bet if you rotated the coin and took another photo the inside characteristic would become flat like the "shelf doubling" seen with ejection.

Key to your question as you have the coin: Is the line inside the "D" RAISED & SEPARATED from the sides of the mint mark as you rotate it through the light?

    Hope this helps.

Looks like MDD/Strike Doubling to me.

Please pardon my ignorance. What does MDD translate to?

I dunno guys, insider could be on to something with a mix of md on an rpm. The pics are too bad to be sure but I see what could be splitting on the bottom serif. I want better pics Allan :)

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

I don't see anything that indicates an RPM to me. It looks like machine damage.

Agreed now with no evidence of splits at all as well as the inner bottom of the D looks to be slightly reduced in size
