I purchased this coin before the price went down it says xf 45 my machine says it’s fake but I have had false tests. The barcode shows the correct coin. PCGS website shows this condition on photo grade as an ms60 I need help please tell me if it’s real coin and if I should get it reslabed with NGC for better grade. Thanks fellow coin lovers!
Your first picture is upside down, but yes it's real thats a recently graded one. A little rub and the luster worn off is XF with PCGS. You might be able to find better pictures of it at heritage or somewhere like that either an auction house or a dealer had a sticker on the reverse
Look at the leaves and acorns on the reverse (at the top of your photo, bottom of the coin) and see how it's flattened out. It could have been in a drawer, sliding around each time it was opened/closed (cabinet friction).
I don't know what kind of machine you are referring to, but I'm sure that they are not designed to read through plastics.
@StrongCoins33 Have you considered starting a thread to discuss the "machine" you are using to come to the conclusion that your slabbed coins are not real instead of starting thread for each coin that is failed by it?
http://www.sigmametalytics.com/ But then you would have to follow instructions and use it correctly... Their own video says it's "problematic"
Thanks I really appreciate all of your help! I am learning so much. I think I will start a sigma thread showing the PCGS ngc coin readouts / coins that it works with. Wile also Coins that it does not work including ancient coins. Just by my naked eye I can’t tell all the things yet. Through your continued help I will learn so much thank all so much for your replies.
