To me it seems like a mint error. Its bent weirdly, and the surface on both sides of the coin dont appear as post mint damage. Any ideas? 1228140138d-1.jpg 1228140138-1.jpg 1228140137a.jpg

Some letters fade into the dent in a way. I think i might see doubling on "quarter dollar" in 3rd pic. The rim looks wobbly instead of clean round. Idk i could be dead wrong lol.

    3. DOUBLED DIE, NOT DOUBLE DIE!

In your case, the answer is #1....

What kind of Mint error did you think it was? Oh, I know! Any time Mint employees spot an irregular coin, they take out their hammers and beat it to death so it can't make it out the doors.

I disagree with your list. #3 should be Machine Doubling. #4 would be "Cleaned"

And the reason these are the top three answers is because these are the top 3 types of coins posted. There's probably 20 problem, fake, cleaned, mangled, machine doubled coins posted for every good coin.

To the OP - we call your coin a "parking lot find" It is mangled, and I probably wouldn't even take it in change if you gave it to me.
