Is this a fake?

I am not buying and I don't own it, its on eBay. It does no look right. It looks cast.

What mnakes you think that it looks cast?

 

Looks okay to me. Nice Eastern mint denarius.

 

I have a lot of "rules of thumb" when it comes to my collecting. The rule at the top of the list is "never buy raw ancients through Ebay". I'm pretty confident that this approach has saved me some number of future headaches

Of course there are tons of legit coins there to go along with the piles of fakes. But that is a minefield that I'd rather not navigate.

 

The initial feeling I get when I looked at it. I did buy this one off of eBay.

 

It may be legit, but I like the one you bought better.

 

Both denarii seem OK to me.

 

I don't see any telltale casting signs.

 

I was not saying it was fake but it just looked a bit funny to me. Thanks for the input.
