Is this a fake PCGS slab?

    I check it on the PCGS web site and the coin is fine and the slab is correct. Jim

    I don't see anything wrong, and I haven't seen a fake of that slab generation before. That generation lasted a little over three years from Nov of 98 thru Feb of 02. And there are possibly some slight variations in the hologram during that period.

    Plus he has 100 percent feedback at over 10,000 and all of the other items look legit to me.

    I suspect the seller may have used photo imaging software on the file to enhance the photo, and what you are seeing is the results. In particular, the texture of the plastic looks much more pronounced than it should be. Not sure about Adobe, but performing a "clarify" using Paint-Shop-Pro will produce this exact trait. It will also tend to enhance the cameo of a coin. Thing is, its hard to imagine someone going to the trouble to enhance a photo when they are using such primitive lighting techniques in the photo to begin with.

    I have a PR67 57 Franklin that didn't cost me that much.
