    if one thinks of the minting process ..... how would that be done.
    If you look at your obverse, it looks like sections are pushed out. When a coin is between three (obverse, reverse and collar dies) hardened steel dies a section is not going to be pushed out.

    Looks like a Grade 8, ¼" Bolt Head got pressed into the reverse of your coin.
