is this a die crack on my 1883 Morgan?

    This looks like a die crack to me. If I gently run my fingernail across it from top to bottom, I can feel a little edge. it runs through the nick and a tiny bit past. upload_2020-7-19_21-7-13.png Any thoughts?

    It looks like a die crack to me. Die cracks are very common on Morgan dollars because it takes 130-150 tons of strike pressure to make the coin. ~ Chris

    It's a die crack and they are normal or Morgan's.

    Certainly appears to be.
    And a bit unusual.
    Interior die cracks are not often seen.

    I have many Morgans and several like yours have die cracks. All Morgans are keepers in my opinion. Thanks be safe

    Nice die crack, but it's very common,
    easy to find on BU's, and no error premium.

    It's a die crack in an area very common on Peace Dollars. It should help in VAM identification, though die cracks aren't VAM identifiers.
