What you're seeing is strike doubling.

As for the section you posted this in, I would not worry much about it. After recent threads on the matter, it seems most do not seek out specific forums and instead use the new posts/thread options.

What do you think about this one? 1966 SMS, I think the initials are doubled, what do you think.

Why should he post it in the Error forum? He's looking for doubled dies. Doubled dies are not errors. It doesn't matter that this happened to be machine doubling.

There are a few DDO's for the '66 SMS. I noticed that yours has the doubled profile, too. Check the CPG to compare your specimen against those in the book.

I never noticed the profile, now that you mention it, it looks slightly like DDO-10. I will have to look at it under a loupe to be sure though.
    Here is ddo-10

I checked it with a loupe. I think I just found my first ddo!! Chin looks better in hand than in photo.

Neck is doubled, lips have some nice doubling/splitting.

It's about time! I thought you might be drawing Social Security before you found one.

You do know you can go back and edit your own post. You don't have to post another one with a correction like you did.

Same here. Believe it or not, this set was the first thing I ever bought when I started coin collecting, I guess I had one the whole time.

Here is another crappy photo (it looks way better in hand)
