It's not necessarily and error but looks mint damage. I bought a sealed mint tube of the new wolf privy reverse proof maple leafs and the first coin I looked at I got one that was damage. I am pretty sure it was damage at the mint and not worth more than the silver but wanted to see what other people thought. Is this type of thing common with the Candian mint as well?
It may have been a small clip that tried to reform. You should hold coins by the edges not the face unless you just happen to like fingerprints.
