Is this a coin?

Discussion in 'World Coins' started by Steven Gardner, Feb 8, 2015.

  1. I have no idea what this is maybe a coin or early token?, obviously been mounted at some point.
Appears to be silver weights 2.06 grams width 18mm.
Also been punched or counter marked.
    Any information would be great.
    Many thanks Steven.

No this is a good luck charm, traditionall worn by fishermen.
This probably is a late copy, as the original version should read "In tempestate securitas": Safety in the storm. Also the St Geroge side has an abbreviated legend.
It is originally based on a medieval middle-european ducat.
