Is this a coin struck through a late stage die cap?

I found this coin roll hunting and thought it curious as the reverse is distorted but the obverse looks normal. So it does not appears to be damaged while in circulation. Then I came across this article: http://www.error-ref.com/struck_through_a_late_stage_die_cap/

Looks like a Dryer Coin damage.
I believe a Capped Die issue only occurs on the Obverse of coins.

 

Dryer damage to that degree but only on on side?
