is this a clipped planchet

    I think it may be a straight clip. I just recently found a dime with a clip like this also and I am still trying to decide. From what I researched, on a clipped planchet the rim will taper into the clip rather then ending abruptly if it was snipped or ground down. Also, the rim directly across from the clip should have a weak strike, but I don't think it would be very evident on a clip this small.

    Yup, looks like a minor curved rim clip. :thumb:

    I'm picking up the Blakesly Effect on reverse pretty well, but had my doubts just viewing the obverse pic.

    Probably a slight premium, a few dollars at best if you put it up on ebay.
