Is this a business stamp?

    Good afternoon all

I was running through some dollar bills earlier and came across this one with an unusual ink mark near the center of the note on the obverse. I normally come across business stamps on notes but this isn’t the sort of thing I usually see. I tried to take a close up hoping someone could tell me what I’m seeing. As usual many thanks in advance

Looks like someone just used an ink pen or something similar on it.

Yes. It looks like a bank teller went to stamp the paper strap holding the pack together, and some ink partially got on the note.

Could even be from whoever put the notes in a band. The paper bands sometimes get stamped with a date, lot number, etc. so Loomis or whatever could know when or where it was gathered.

Thanks for the replies all, shame that’s a boring one, I like to keep all the stamped bills I find but I also like to know where the stamp is from so looks like this ones going back to the bank lol. Thanks again

Just part of a teller's stamp that missed the band. NAV
